Well Water and Groundwater

Iowa Farm Bureau Federation contracted with us to modify the national Farm*A*Syst model to make it specific and applicable to Iowa. Iowa is the only state in which a private organization initiated Farm*A*Syst. In Iowa, publications were designed to help farmers and rural residents prevent groundwater contamination, and to a lesser extent, surface water pollution.

Hi Cathy, I Coordinate the Environmental Home assessment Program in Nova Scotia. The program targets rural homeowners to educate them on proper operation and maintenence of their septic system, private water supply and home heating oil tank system.

The purpose is to change behaviou so the homeowners test their well water (which has been lacking) amonst other past behavioural trends that are detrimental to the environment and public health.
