I am interested in learning if anyone operates an education vehicle. An all-in-one vehicle that can be driven to schools, fairs, etc. and provide hands-on education to participants. Thank you for any information you might be able to provide.

We have just launched a 'greener living' trailer which is a joint project between our recycling and environment teams aiming to edcuate the community regarding 5 key areas: waste, biodiversity, transport, energy and water. It is a 4.2m exhibition trailer which was purchased in the UK and can be towed into community events, schools etc. It is kitted out inside with interactive information panels, games etc. A trailer may be a more cost effective way to achieve your aim than an all in one vehicle if you already have access to a vehicle that can tow a trailer. We have also installed a solar panel on the trailer so we don't need any power supply at events.
Best wishes

We are also looking for such a vehicle at the Richmond Environment Network. My colleague has considered an old milk float, with a solar panel on its roof but I think the old batteries are too heavy and will not be viable.

Hi,
We have a similar unit. It is a trailer outfitted with solar panels and a small turbine that we use to educate people on renewable energy and energy conservation. We built it in partnership with the local utility and the local high school. It was a great educational experience for the students involved and has served us well over the past few years. The turbine and panels certainly attract attention.
You can view photos of it at www.reducethejuice.ca.

Hi Theresa
We have a solar panel on our trailer but am keen to get a wind turbine fitted. I've looked at the photos of yours and it looks great. Brilliant to have involved students too.

We have a vehicle within Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue (UK) that travles to schools, fairs etc that is used for Fire safety education. It sounds as though it might be just the right sort of vehicle you are looking at.
I will attempt to get a name and contact details for you.
