Hello Listserv Members:
I am looking for information on Bike Sharing or Free Bike programs to add to the research that I am conducting on reducing residential and/or commercial emissions related to transportation. There are a lot of these programs out there, and so it is difficult to determine which are the 'best' at reducing emissions. I am hoping that the people on this listserv with better backgrounds in this area than myself can direct me to case studies with evaluations that indicate what programs really work.
These case studies will be considered for review in the novel that Doug McKenzie-Mohr is co-writing with Nancy Lee, Wes Schultz, and Phil Kotler entitled, "What Works."
Thanks in advance!
Amanda

Hi Amanda
They have a free bike program in Copenhagen, Denmark during Summer. I used to live in Denmark and that is why i know about it. I am not sure if the program has been evaluated.
Cheers,

Hi Amanda Kilburn,
All of the "bike to work" campaigns work fine on level ground. How are we supposed to bike to work when we live in a city full of hills? Vancouver, Canada. OK, some of you will do it, but most of us can't physically. Furthermore, Vancouver drives will run over you unless you keep well out of their way. Vancouver bike riders have become agressive as a result and are defiant of traffic, even when threatened by a gravel truck they don't move over. Any ideas how to resolve these real problems?
