For a internal communications workshop, I need a few success stories of communication campaigns that clearly resulted in significant behavior change and/or (even better) environmental change: increase in fish/wildlife reproduction, decrease in environmental pollutants etc. Looked at the case studies on this site and on tools of change and didn't find exactly what I'm looking for. Size doesn't matter!
Thanks.

First, thanks to Virginia for some excellent information.
Elaine,
I'm not sure if non-habitat information is helpful, but there are some specific energy conservation success stories, from eMeter, http://event.on24.com/r.htm?e=262233&s=1&k=0B666F0AA8888FA5A2435B3EE3DC80E1 .
You might also find helpful infomation on the OPower web site, http://www.opower.com/Research/WhitePapers.aspx.

Hi Elaine
Perhaps you'd be interested in a project called the 100 Ideas House which was based on the Cultural Dynamics values modes methodology and targeted 'prospectors'. http://www.cse.org.uk/projects/view/1098
Contact [email protected] for info about the outcome of the project. I don't think he has quantitative data though and it might not qualify as 'clearly resulting in a significant behaviour change'. But it's an interesting project nevertheless as it targeted an otherwise hard to reach group.

Good morning, Elaine. The Virginia CZM Program has been working on a social marketing campaign to increase the use of native plants on Virginias Eastern Shore Plant ES Natives - that shows really great promise and has, just two years in, shown some good results. We will be conducting a behavior change survey next spring. There is an article in the latest Virginia Coastal Zone Management which gives an overview of the campaign http://www.deq.virginia.gov/coastal/magazine.html Let me know if you would like additional information or have any questions - (804) 698-4320.
