I have a two-part question for the listserv:
1) Is anyone aware of cbsm programs or case studies that have been used to increase citizen or community preparedness for natural or man-made disasters, such as terrorist attacks, public health epidemics, hurricanes, or radiological or chemical releases?
2) are there any nonprofit or voluntary organizations in the Chicago area or Midwestern US that have experience in implementing a cbsm pilot project?
Thanks for any information or leads,
Bob Baumgartner

Charlotte Harbor in Florida has been selected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be a case study for local action to protect sensitive coastal ecosystems and economies from the potential effects of climate change.

Bob -
On your second question...
Our Wisconsin nonprofit is currently developing a couple of cbsm pilots that will launch into research phases shortly. And I'm aware of some earlier efforts in WI - in the public health arena - that used a cbsm model to reduce drunk driving.
Also, the Energy Center of WI sponsored a cbsm workshop last fall and attendees included some folks from the Chicago area - so they might be able to offer you additional leads.
Best of luck -
