Does anyone use a cab ride policy for employee business or local travel? Basically something that states that employees must receive management approval for cab ride reimbursement, otherwise mass transit is preferred.

Hi Jeanette,
thanks for this, but I wasn't referring to a Guaranteed or Emergency Ride Home policy, but rather, a policy to deter employees from taking cabs when they travel between meetings or for business travel.
Similar to management approval for thermostat temperature changes, I want management approval for cab rides so it's not considered an automatic benefit, therefore employees have to take mass transit whenever possible.

I made the attached form for our paid ride home. It worked for us. We had an admin receiving and tracking the forms internally. I had a contract with a preferred cab company because they had some hybrid vehicles in their fleet. The cab company requested we use their standard vouchers to keep things easy for their drivers. Tip was included. We also cleared everything with HR.
