I am looking for some help with a literature search on how to change the behaviors of adults in a business setting.
I am having trouble finding sources on social marketing to business employees. The size of the business does not matter. I can find lots on social marketing to households, commuters, and other types of members of the public, but not business employees specifically.
Eventually I want to do a social marketing campaign to get workers to manage their containers of dangerous waste properly. This means choosing the appropriate container, making sure the containers dont/wont leak, and getting them off the premises in a timely manner.
Please contact me with any resources that you think could help me in this project.

Hi Mariann,
There have been a number of programs run in Australia that have sought to bring about behaviour changes for energy efficiency in businesses. While not specifically modeled on CBSM, the programs use a range of behaviour change tools including tailored information and social norms.
Here are some useful links:

Sorry, I'm a bit strapped for time so can't provide much more detail at the moment, but feel free to contact me if you need more information.

Our organization--Cool Choices--partners with businesses to change behaviors via employee engagement programs. There's information on our website about our process as well as an evaluation report at http://www.coolchoicesnetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/i-Choose-post-game-survey-report-Miron-2012-04-16-final.pdf.
We believe workplaces provide an excellent opportunity to influence change because there's a lot of social interaction AND infrastructures to leverage for communication (email, staff meetings, etc.).

You can also find case studies of business programs on the Tools of Change site. Do a "Case Studies Search" on the site using the word "work" and you will get a list of case studies of which over twenty are work-focused. The ones at the top of the list are more likely to be business-focused than the ones at the bottom of the list.

Gillette is a participant in the Challenge for Sustainability in Boston and they just rolled out a successful waste engagement pilot where 80% of employees voluntarily turned in their waste bins.
