Hi! I am looking for research papers that document increased waste diversion at multi-unit residential buildings that have implemented CBSM strategies. Are there studies that show how asking residents for commitments to divert waste and public displays of residents' commitments have resulted in increased waste diversion? I would love to read studies where this has been proven, to encourage the use of these strategies.

Hi Julie. Thanks so much for your reply. The article you provided is excellent. I also wasn't seeing the articles because my waste search was too narrow, so your instructions opened up a lot of articles for me. I really appreciate your help!
Hi Lisa,
No problem! Happy to help.

Hi Lisa, there are two main websites you can visit to find research papers on waste reduction/diversion. The first is this website, where you can click on Resources, then the three-arrow reduce, reuse, recycle icon, then click on Recycling. You will see that there are 215 articles and 30 cases on the topic. The second is the Tools of Change website here, where I found this article demonstrating that commitments are relatively effective in encouraging pro-environmental behavior. I hope this helps.
